Have you already determined if your skin is normal, dry, oily or a combination of those? You might know it but I bet you didn’t know that the skin changes overtime? So your skin may be normal last time you checked, but is now oily and you’re still using the same product. Well, that is a big mistake.
Knowing the correct skin type is really important in order to know how to properly take care of your skin and choose the right products to use and routine to make. Determining your skin type is the first step and the best way in taking care of your skin.
-
Skin Texture
The texture of the skin can show its true condition and which products are needed to take care of it. The skin is dry if it feels tight, while it will be greasy and shiny if the skin is oily. Combination type of skin refers to the feel of dry skin everywhere except the T-Zone. The T-zone is composed of the forehead, nose and chin. These will feel balanced, either not too dry or oily.

Examine your Pores
All people have visible pores; the only difference is their size and how often they are clogged. These can tell you what your skin type is. Normally, large clogged pores in the nose indicate oily skin while small pores indicate dry skin and may feel tight. Combination skin has large pores around the nose and small ones in other areas. There are less noticeable pores in normal skin.

The Need to Moisturize
The tendency to moisturize the skin often is also one of the indicators of your skin type. Moisturizers are used to keep the skin hydrated and healthy.
Some type of moisturizers can make oily skin feel lot greasier. A more hardworking product is needed for dry skin especially after waking up and after cleansing. Moisturizers are only applied to certain areas of the face if you have a combination-type skin. Normal skin tend to remain hydrated enough throughout the day.
